Mass. school reforms collide with budget crunch
Gov. Deval Patrick's ambitious plan to revamp public education over a decade has crashed into Massachusetts' fiscal crisis, and now a commission is recommending savings and tax hikes -- including a 20 percent sales tax increase -- to achieve the plan's goals.
